Before we get into it, I just want to say that I loved Todd Phillips' Joker. I thought it took that character and created a very memorable piece on the struggles of mental health, how society treats those who struggle and how that can affect us all. Joaquin Phoenix turned in a wonderful but tortured performance. The score painted a saddening life. I did not expect this to happen.
