The Trailer for 'MORBIUS' is here - and it comes with surprises!

Hey Film Fans!

When Sony announced a Morbius film, I wasn't entirely too excited. They've been bouncing around the idea of a 'shared Spider-Man cinematic universe' even though the character himself has been lent to Marvel Studios for use in the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside the Avengers. In 2018, Sony released 'VENOM' starring Tom Hardy, which was quite the surprise. Well, Sony has done it again and today they released the first trailer for 'MORBIUS' starring Jared Leto.

Here it is:

This looks AWESOME! Similar to Doctor Strange, this film is about a man willing to do anything to fix his ailment, but entering a world entirely unknown to himself. The character has been a fan favorite in the comics and Leto stars as the Living Vampire himself. There have been rumors that this film would tie into the larger Marvel universe and that looks to be true.

This image shows Morbius standing in front of graffiti on top of the image of Spider-Man (a shot of the Raimi suit from the Spider-Man PS4 game for some reason) definitely tying this film to 'SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME'. But there was one more surprise left for the end of this trailer:

That's definitely Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/Vulture, reprising his role from 'SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING'. He's even wearing the same prison jumpsuit he wore at the end of that film in the end credits scene. There have also been rumors that Tom Holland himself would make a cameo appearance in 'VENOM 2' (which is now filming) that would effectively bring his Spidey into the Sony-shared universe. Well, with Keaton making an appearance, and that shot of the graffiti, I can only assume that those rumors are also true.

MORBIUS hits theaters July 21st, 2020.
